Is there legislation that you have to have a Doctor Certificate to say that you can work in childcare?

I have been asked when I go to Job interview's for Child Care they ask for a certificate that says I can work in a child care enviorment. I have never heard of it.Is there legislation that you have to have a Doctor Certificate to say that you can work in childcare?
in the UK you would need an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau certificate to confirm that you do not have any convictions that would stop you working with children - I don't know where you are so that's the best I can do at the moment.
Maybe that varies by state. I'm in PA, and here you have to have a current physical and a mantoux tb test to work in a public school or child care or preschool preschool program. The programs I've worked in have their own form which they require that you take to the doctor with you, so you probably should ask if they have a form they want you to use. You probably should also ask if tb test is required and if so, which kind (mantoux or tine test). This is required by law here.Is there legislation that you have to have a Doctor Certificate to say that you can work in childcare?
I know in you don't need one in TX. When they interview you they will ask if you can pick up kids and stoop over. After I got hired I had to get a TB test. If you are pregnant they will ask for a note from your dr. when you cant lift any more.
not that i know of i have never heard of needing a Dr's certificate to work in child care well not in Australia N.S.WIs there legislation that you have to have a Doctor Certificate to say that you can work in childcare?
When I was hired at a local Head Start in Texas, I had to have a physical before I could start working. I also had to have a TB test, as well.
