How will the legislation that NYC and Chicago are trying to pass affect the restaurant business?

They are trying to pass a law to where restaurants can't use trans fat oil in cooking. I think it will be good for people that eat out alot, but how will it affect the food service industry? How will the legislation that NYC and Chicago are trying to pass affect the restaurant business?
It probably won't affect business at all, unless it changes the taste of specific foods. I really think its stupid though the way the government tries to act like we aren't smart enough to take care of ourselves. How will the legislation that NYC and Chicago are trying to pass affect the restaurant business?
The same way Chicago laws forcing wages affected Wal Mart and Target. The companies will leave. The law will be thrown out in court. The government has no authority to regulate this. How will the legislation that NYC and Chicago are trying to pass affect the restaurant business?
That's not an accurate statement of the proposed law, at least in New York. The New York regulation would a) prohibit city owned facilities from using trans fat containing oil, and b) require local restaurants to advise customers if they use the trans fat oil.

The debate as to what, if any, effect it will have is ongoing.
